EEP is partnering with a valued client located in Clackamas. The Fabricator position is responsible for welding / fabricating diverse products following customer specification and blueprint drawings. This position requires dependable work habits and teamwork. Attention to detail and meeting quality standards are essential. We look for adaptability, service-orientation and effective teamwork as well as the technical requirements of the job. There are two levels in this job: Level two demonstrates competency in all category of skills. Level one is still learning the competencies. Fabricator Competency sets include: MCAW, FCAW, robot welder, twin, beveling, stick, TIG, visual weld, fixturing, fabrication and the general competencies of: print reading, math, oxy-ace., plasma, grinding, material handling and painting.

Job Description: The Fabricator position involves welding and fabricating diverse products according to customer specifications and blueprint drawings. It demands dependable work habits, teamwork, attention to detail, and meeting quality standards. Adaptability, service-orientation, effective teamwork, and technical proficiency are key qualities sought for this role.

This position has two levels:

  • Level Two: Demonstrates competency in all skill categories.
  • Level One: Still acquiring competencies.

Fabricator competency sets include:

  • MCAW
  • FCAW
  • Robot welder
  • Twin, beveling
  • Stick, TIG
  • Visual weld, fixturing
  • Fabrication
  • General competencies: print reading, math, oxy-ace., plasma, grinding, material handling, and painting.

Functional Responsibilities:

Productivity:

  • Demonstrate urgency in completing work.
  • Follow procedures for machine operation, quality, safety, and workflow.
  • Complete jobs within allotted time or less.
  • Follow standard procedures using checklists and gauge systems.
  • Communicate overlooked information and record it

Produce Quality Product:

  • Verify output against specifications before handoff.

  • Inspect incoming materials against specifications.
  • Consistently deliver quality work.

    • Highly skilled in assigned functions.

Maintaining Process Efficiency:

    • Manage in-process quality and reporting.
    • Actively seek and implement efficiencies.
    • Plan ahead, follow designated processes.
    • Document improvement suggestions.

Daily Functions: 

  • Consistently be on time and ready to work
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure coworkers do as well
  • Review assigned duty
  • Fulfill work area and materials / information required
  • Follow standard procedures using checklist and gauge system
  • Convey overlooked information and record it 
  • Document improvement suggestions 
  • Make sure you have your tools ready, clean and in the correct locations to be able to do the job
  • Have a plan for the day even though it may change 
  • Look at the product as the customer would 
  • Keep the work area clean and hazard free

Experience Required:

  • At least 3 years experience in fabrication preferred.
  • Experience in an ASME certified facility preferred.
  • ASME Certified preferred.
  • Certified Lift Truck Operator (can certify on-site).
  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Must be able to work overtime if needed.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: 

  • Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs repetitively; Must be able to lift 20 lbs over head.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to read directions and schematics.
  • Must be able to calculate fractions, decimals and other mathematical equations.
  •  Must be able to drive lift truck, boom lift and cranes
  •  Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
