Maintenance Technician - Apartments

 

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and upkeep at our apartment community. You will work to quickly fix any issues with apartments, fixtures, utilities, and common areas to ensure safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living spaces for our residents.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect vacant units and prepare them for new residents by replacing carpets, painting, replacing fixtures, and performing routine maintenance
  • Respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary repairs promptly
  • Perform preventive maintenance duties such as appliance servicing, HVAC inspections, gutter cleaning, smoke detector checks, etc.
  • Complete electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and other maintenance repairs as needed
  • Remediate any pest control issues
  • Service community amenities and common areas (fitness center, pool, etc.)
  • Maintain maintenance shop, inventory, and order supplies/parts as needed
  • Respond to on-call emergencies and after-hours service requests
  • Maintain documentation and maintenance records
  • Collaborate with the Property Manager on unit inspections and preparing make-ready plans

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience, ideally in apartment complexes
  • Knowledge of building systems, construction, appliance repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skills
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Reliable team player who can work with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver''s license, clean driving record, and ability to lift at least 50 lbs
  • On-call availability for emergencies
