Our Port Coquitlam client is expanding and looking for an Estimator to join their team! This is a permanent, full-time role for a proactive individual!

 

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years minimum within the signage industry is required
• 3+ years minimum experience in an Estimator role
• In-depth knowledge of signage fabrication processes & welding techniques
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 is required
• CWB, Red Seal Welder Certification and/or Metal Fabrication Certification is a strong asset
• Proficient in reading & interpreting blueprints, drawings & technical specifications
• Interest in professional design and/or architecture
• Strong communication skills: written & verbal
• Background & reference checks will be conducted
• Excellent organization and time management skills

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and production teams to align cost estimates with project timelines and objectives.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings to communicate and clarify estimation details
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including breakdowns of labor, materials, and equipment costs.
• Generate reports and documentation to communicate project estimates and updates to internal teams and clients.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing for materials, components, and fabrication services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.
• Utilize fabrication and welding expertise to estimate material costs, labor hours, and equipment usage for signage projects.
• Collaborate with suppliers to obtain accurate quotes for materials and services required for fabrication.
