Purchasing Manager

Located in Edison, NJ

Salary: $75,000-$90,000

Our client in Edison, NJ needs a Purchasing Manager for Direct Hire. In this role, the purchasing manager will oversee the efficient and effective flow of goods and materials from suppliers to customers. You will ensure supply chain functions run smoothly, minimizing disruptions, and optimizing cost-effectiveness. You will be aware of the stock on hand and monitor what is being used and what quality products are in stock. This is a Direct Hire position.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate inventory levels
• Implement inventory control strategies to reduce waste and ensure product freshness.
• Work with suppliers to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms.
• Evaluate supplier performance and build relationships.
• Analyze historical data and market trends.
• Adjust inventory levels and supply orders based on demand fluctuations.
• Manage order processing activities.
• Work alongside with production and logistics teams
• Oversee the transportation and distribution of products to various locations.
• Optimize shipping routes, carrier selection, and logistics processes for cost efficiency.
• Monitor product quality standards and compliance with industry regulations.
• Coordinate inventory movement to and from outside storage to maintain optimal stock levels.

Experience needed:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, and operations management or finance.
• 4-6 years of experience in supply chain and purchasing to be considered.
• Must have hands-on experience in inventory management, supplier relations, forecasting, order processing, logistics and distribution, quality assurance, risk management, and outside storage management within the food industry.
• Experience with planning and implementing the overall chain strategy.
• Know how to collaborate with purchasing, sales, operations, and customer service teams.
• Train, evaluate, and mentor employees and continually educate staff on safety guidelines.

Schedule:
M-Th 9:00 AM- 6:00 PM
F 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM
This is in the office M-F and NOT a hybrid or remote position.

Compensation:
$75,000-$90,000 DOE
