General Laborer - Agronomy Department | Iuka, Kansas | Andale, Kansas

Location: Iuka, Kansas and Andale, Kansas

Compensation Details:

• Full-Time
• Initial compensation for this position is approximately $16 per hour, with the potential for adjustment based on experience. 

 

Responsibilities: The General Laborer in the Agronomy Department plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting various operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Loading and unloading trucks
• Filling propane and NH3 tanks
• Loading and unloading fertilizer
• Assisting all departments and/or locations with daily operations as needed
• Maintaining the location through repair work and housekeeping duties
• Providing excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, questions, and complaints promptly and professionally
• Completing all paperwork accurately and in accordance with requirements
• Effectively communicating with customers, employees, and management through verbal and written means
• Promoting safety awareness and adhering to safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
• Complying with all state and federal laws, codes, and regulations
• Ensuring a clean and professional appearance
• Prompt and regular attendance
• Performing all other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Willingness to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes, or other job-related education requirements or opportunities.

 

Skills:

• Proficient computer operation skills.
• Commercial Pesticide Certification 7B preferred.
• Forklift Certification preferred.
• Commercial Applicator’s License preferred.
• NH3 Handling Certification preferred.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read, interpret, and write documents.
• Effective verbal communication skills

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Reasoning Ability:

• Common sense and understanding to carry out instructions.
• Problem-solving ability in standard situations

Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting and moving up to 100 pounds.
• Climbing ladders (may range from 20’ to 180’) and stairs.
• Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
