Express Employment is seeking a qualified Payroll Specialist to assist in all activities regarding the management of employee compensation for a local company. The ideal candidate will need to have union payroll experience and ADP system experience! They will be responsible for managing payroll for over 480 employees.

 

Payroll Specialist Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8am-5pm
• Fresno, CA
• DIRECT HIRE

Pay Range: $25-$35

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities

• Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems for non-union and unionized employees to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Payroll processing, including union, certified, and prevailing wage requirements, ensuring accurate and timely payment in compliance with union contracts and regulations.
• Maintain and update employee records related to union memberships, dues, and deductions. Calculate wages, benefits, and additional compensation based on union agreements, including overtime, shift differentials, and premium rates.
• Collaborate with union representatives and HR department to resolve payroll-related issues and answer employee inquiries.
• Prepare and submit accurate reports, such as union remittances, dues statements, and contribution summaries, as required by union agreements.

Payroll Specialist Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
• Solid understanding of the ADP payroll system.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with payroll software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
• Five years payroll experience required.
• Minimum of two years of union payroll experience required.
