Assembly Technician

Location: Tolland, CT

Pay rate: $16-16.50/hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm

Duties:

• Construct and test all subassemblies and instrument models.
• Provide leadership and support to less skilled technicians.
• Identify the need to update any drawings, bills of materials and assembly procedures, with special details to Engineering for action, after approval of the Production Supervisor.
• Leak test subassemblies and completed units.
• Build wire harnesses.
• Complete the necessary paperwork for cost tracking and administrative controls of each unit.
• Demonstrate excellent solder skills.
• Able to read schematics and  blueprints.
• Make detailed practical recommendations for increased quality, decreased cost or ease of assembly in producing the instruments.
• Troubleshoot and isolate problems to board level.
• Correct problems of mechanical or electrical nature.
• Teach less skilled assembly technicians to build, leak test and troubleshoot assemblies and instruments.
• Assist in the physical inventory count when required.
• Programs EPROMS and PLD’s for all units.
• Pre-calibration of units, as required.
