Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Wastewater Supervisor.
Salary $63K

Monday- Friday
8:00 am - 4:00 pm or 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

 

Job Summary
The supervisor ensures that all aspects of the wastewater management system are functioning correctly. Supervisor reports findings and makes adjustments as needed to keep purity and amount of wastewater in line with regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Check water pump and MBBR to make sure water is clear to city
• Check water flows (how many gallons per minute) to the city
• Ensure pumps are running properly so everything runs smoothly
• Irrigate by changing head gates, moving pipe, and checking sprinkler heads for operability
• Run belt press and make sure all components are running correctly (hydraulics, hose fittings, belt pressure correct)
• Perform chemical transfer in safe and effective manner
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment
• Change filters on blowers and ensure air quality to lagoon is good and bearings are greased
• Ensure aerators are running properly
• Take water samples and ensure that bacteria count is good and that flow from plant to lagoon and then to the city is correct
• Take dissolved oxygen readings 3 times daily to ensure level of oxygen is correct
• Make sure temperature of water is correct
• Interact with various vendors
• Maintain files and logs for Department of Environmental Quality and Environmental Protection Agency
• Maintain good personal hygiene, follow GMP’s and keep a clean, safe and sanitary work place. Immediately report any situation that may cause product to be contaminated.

 

Additional
• Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor

Supervision of Others
• Supervise and train 5 wastewater operators

Licenses, Permits, Certifications Required
• Waste Water Class 1

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential
• Excellent self-management skills
• Good communication skills
• Well organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Basic PC skills in MS Office and database management.
• Knowledge of wastewater industry regulations understands and is compliant with GMP standards.
• Able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. frequently during shift
• Must be able to work effectively and safely in a wet and hot/cold environment
• Maintain records/ reports for DEQ
