About the Client:  Express Employment in Redding is working with a local insectary seeking a Quality Assurance Processing Lead for their warehouse production team.  

About the Position:  We are looking for a candidate to assist with all necessary Quality Assurance Counts on all incoming and outgoing products following proper protocols and counting methods.  Use of stereoscopes, microscopes, moisture analyzers, analytical balances, and aspirators for the appropriate method of counting is necessary.

Job Description/ Responsibilities:

•    Use stereoscope, microscope, moisture analyzers, analytical balances, and aspirators for the appropriate method of counting.
•    Constant use computers for reports, and quick responses/reactions appropriate to the given situations.
•    Able to handle working with extensive variety of arthropods produced and sold by the company following proper PPE.
•    Able to sieve and potentially carry production supplies of set up materials:
      These include:
           Peat Moss, Vermiculite, and Bran
•    Align to the objectives, goals, actions, and measures used by corporate in every department within the company. 
•    Know and assist in fine handling of the collection of data using the methods used in corporate:
      These include:
          Cone n cut, wet counts, tape counts, emergence, aspirator counts, and others.
•    Analyze, organize, and share data with multiple departments.

•    Assist Production and Processing activities if area needs it.
o    These include:
    Packaging materials for sales 
    Preparing raw material mixtures for storing, packing, or producing products.
     Measuring received product for stock estimation and control.
•    Work in production/processing hours from Monday to Friday (From 6am to 2pm)

COMPETENCIES: 

•    Basic entomology knowledge.
•    Basic Excel Skills.
•    Assertive communicator.
•    Good practices on use of Stereoscope and other basic lab equipment 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSABILITIES: None.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Practical work environment. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

•    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or a stereoscope
•    Prolonged periods of walking/standing assisting production of processing with collecting some data.
•    Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. 
•    Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures under stereoscope, microscope, and computer; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
•    Carry of material no more than 10lbs. 
•    Fine manipulation of product samples to assure the best handle and minimize the margin of error during sample collection.
•    Handling some fine-thin material such as sieved Verm/bran
•    Handling of arthropods (i.e., mites) that might encounter employee’s skin.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  10% travel to other locations locally to other facilities (may vary)

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

•    Studying a bachelor’s degree in agriculture (Food and resource) or a Science AND/OR
•    1 year of related experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

•    Bachelor’s degree in agriculture (Food and resource) or a Science
•    2-5 years of related experience

Shift:

Monday-Friday 6 am to 2:45 pm
