CNC Machinist/Operator - Swing Shift

Located in Sherwood, OR

Salary: $24- $30/hr. DOE

We’re looking for a CNC Machinist to join a client of ours in Sherwood. This position entails operating a range of machines, including conventional, special purpose, and numerical control machines, as well as any other machines necessary for the job. It provides an excellent long-term opportunity to further develop skills in this field.

This is an evaluation to full-time hire position.

Must have:  Steel-toed boots, metatarsal guards, and long pants will be required, and shirts must cover your shoulders.

Anyone who does not comply with the dress code will be sent home.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
• Mark and measure dimensions on workpieces for machining guidance.
• Select and align cutting tools, materials, and attachments on machines.
• Set controls to regulate machining factors or input commands into computerized systems.
• Verify finished workpiece conformity to specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and programmers to address issues.
• Operate various machines (lathes, mills, hobs, drills) and secure parts for machining.
• Ensure accurate execution of part programs and adherence to Lean Manufacturing principles.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

 

• 2-3 years of mechanic/assembly work experience
• Proficiency in operating fabricating machines (shears, brakes, presses, rolls, routers)
• Ability to shape metal using anvils or blocks.
• Must have own tools and rigging skills.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• 3+ years of hands-on CNC experience or equivalent training.
• Experience in fixturing, tooling setup, and machine offsets.
• Strong attention to detail and patience.
• Preferred: Knowledge of G-code programming or experience with Mastercam X8/NC-CAM 7/CNC mill and lathe.

Pay: $24 - $30+/hr. DOE 

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30 PM - 11 PM
