Manual VTL Mill Operator - Night Shift

Express has a local machine shop looking for a manual vertical milling machine operator. This is for the night shift: Monday-Friday 6PM-2AM, with overtime as required. $27/hour plus depending on experience. 

 

JOB PROFILE AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Manual VTL Mill Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Manual VTL Mills

• Read prints for required specifications and dimensions
• Set up parts and make layouts according to print for specifications
• Operate Manual VTL Mill
• Measure parts using different measuring tools (tape measure, dial calipers, dial indicators, micrometers)
• Remove slag using grinders
• Operate overhead cranes on daily basis to load machines with parts
• Cut supports to lengths needed using a hot saw
• Occasionally operate forklifts

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years minimum Manual Mill experience
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and machining instruments such as indicators, scales, micrometers, etc.
• Ability to work full time plus overtime
• Ability to be a safety oriented individual and a team player
• Ability to be punctual

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 50 lbs., sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, etc. Work environment may include high noise areas, working at heights, confined spaces, congested work sites, shift work, duration rotations, shop setting, etc.
