Monday thru Friday – 8am to 5 pm

$24 to $30hr depending on experience

 

Busy architectural firm in Glendale is looking for a Job Captain to join their team.

 

Summary: The job captain is a team leader of an architectural or building project, they oversee the progress of architects and draftsmen. We are looking for someone with more commercial architecture drafting, such as retail centers, store tenant improvements, apartment buildings, industrial type buildings.

 

Job Duties:

• Keeping a schedule, staying on budget, and ensuring the smooth operation of any tasks.
• The responsibilities on an architectural project require
• Communicate with the clients, team lead, and draftsmen throughout each stage of a project.
• Organize and manage consultants (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, landscape, civil engineer, soils engineer, etc.)
• Red line and review plans for accuracy, design intent (QA and QC), accessibility code compliance, contract deliverables, etc.
• Provide construction administration support for commercial projects.
• Assist the project manager in orchestrating ALL ASPECTS of assembling and understanding the construction documents.
• Detail commercial buildings, knowledge of the applicable codes and variants, understand internals project budgets.
• Assist, direct and manage staffing efforts.

 

Qualification:

• At least 6-8 years as a Job Captain.
• 10 years of California project experience.
• Multifamily residential project experience would be a plus.
• Should have been a senior draftsperson for at least 3- 5 years prior to becoming a job captain.
• Must understand and be proficient in Plan Check processing.
• Familiarity with CAD software and technical schematics.
• Must know CA codes and processing.
• Senior level person, project manager type.
• Architectural license would be a plus.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
