Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting and Payroll Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have full knowledge of the accounting cycle, be proficient in Sage Software, and possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. This individual will play a critical role in managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and contributing to the overall success of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Full Knowledge of Accounting Cycle:

    • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the entire accounting cycle.
  • Software Proficiency:

    • Work with Sage Software and maintain a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Accounting Functions:

    • Complete payroll processes, manage accounts payable, process general journal entries, and handle monthly entries.
    • Conduct bank reconciliations, including fulfilling government responsibilities related to financial transactions.
  • Year-End Preparation:

    • Prepare year-end documents for external accountants.
  • Record Keeping:

    • Maintain orderly financial records, balancing various accounts using a computerized bookkeeping system.
  • Administrative Tasks:

    • Draft correspondences and formal documents as needed.
    • Develop and implement organized filing systems.
    • Perform various office tasks as required.
  • Government Remittances:

    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of government remittances.
  • Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • At least 5+ years of experience in accounting and payroll administration.
    • Proficiency in Sage Accounting.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask.
    • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
    • Outstanding reliability, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Able to lift up to 10-15 lbs of paperwork.
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Attributes:

    • Highly adaptable and capable of working efficiently autonomously or with a team.
    • Strong attention to detail.
