Express Employment Professionals is currently hiring Service Technicians for a local commercial trailer manufacturer. The Service Technician will be responsible for the service and repair of semi-trailers to meet DOT Standards.

• Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, or other breakdown or failure of a motor vehicle or related equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine corrective maintenance for all vehicles including braking systems and hydraulic and air systems for tractors and trailers
• Make proper use of both power and hand tools to repair or replace defective components of customer vehicles and trailers
• Must be experienced in welding, electrical, fabrication, sheet metal and mechanical
• Keep all assigned vehicle maintenance files current including DOT compliance-related documentation for mechanical work performed on transport vehicles 
• Safely operate tractor-trailer unit within terminal premises, and drive equipment safely over roadways to either test drive or deliver to outside shop for repairs
• Prepare and maintain maintenance records in accordance with Company policies, and state and federal regulations
• Ability to write, read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Make entries on reports and record entries on maintenance records to ensure compliance with regulations
• Provide a safe and clean work environment at all times
• Make repairs on units in a timely and safe manner

Schedule: 7:00am-4:30pm

Pay: $17.00-$21.00/HR + BOE

Requirements

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform well in a team environment
• Certified forklift driver, or ability to become certified
• Valid Drivers License with good driving record
• Diesel engine experience a plus
