CNC Machinist
Located in Kentwood, MI
Salary: $18-$22/hr
CNC Machinist Job Summary:
A state-of-the-art medical manufacturer is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their quickly growing team. This company offers ample opportunities for training and career growth as well as fully paid family medical benefits upon hire.
CNC Machinist Requirements:
- Read part prints and job orders for all product specifications
- Use machine controls to do production operations, set-up, adjusting tool positions and changing tools
- Review machine operating criteria (cycle time and spindle RPM)
- Install specified collets, bushings and stock pushers onto stock feeding mechanism and load barstock into the feeding mechanism
- Install and adjust specified cams, gears and stops to control stock and tool movements
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines daily
- Collect data and communicate tasks by entering into data system and other applications
- Perform first piece sample inspection
- Monitor part dimensions through continuous checking of part features and process control tools (such as SPC), using measurement devices
- Work with tight tolerances
Schedule: 6AM - 4PM or 8PM – 6AM; Monday - Friday, overtime as needed
Pay: $18-$22/hr, based on experience
CNC Machinist Qualifications:
- Knowledge of fundamental machining principals; turning, milling and grinding
- CNC lathe experience is required
- Fundamental understanding of machining theory, including x, y, and z axis along with edge and centerline pickup
- Above par reading and math skills
- Proven manual dexterity and lift capacity
- Must read blueprints
- Understand proper use of micrometers, calipers, metric scales, optical comparators and various other gauges
- Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis
- Must be able to stand 10-12 hours per day
