Location: Palm City (Direct Hire)

Hours: 8:00am-6:30pm Mon-Thurs

Compensation: $25/hr + full benefits

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Auto Repair Vocational Instructor is responsible for instructing and training participants to help them achieve their vocational goals, as well as providing transportation to and from school and/or home. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Coordinate Fleet Vehicle maintenance and repairs for Project Lift Vehicles. 
  •  Certify participants in ALLDATA repair using instructor manual and hands on techniques. 
  •  Complete 1 large specialty project / year (hot rod rebuild). 
  •  Plan/complete small projects with participants. 
  •  Attend and actively engage in daily meetings.
  • Instruct and monitor participants in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
  • Demonstrates safe and effective use of vocational program tools and equipment.
  • Provide supervision to ensure that all students are wearing proper safety equipment.
  • Make recommendations for potential equipment purchases and repairs.
  • Instruct and mentor participants individually, and in groups.
  • Establish clear objectives for all projects and communicate those objectives to  participants.
  • Prepare materials for projects and activities. Keep work area clan, neat and organized at all times.
  • Handle reporting and record keeping as necessary and/or required.
  • Work efficiently and effectively without supervision.
  • Assists other departments and provide support where needed.
  • Pick up or drop off participants depending on the need each day, which may include multiple trips.
  • Observe safety regulations and state laws regarding vehicle operation; ensures part pants also follow applicable safety regulations.
  • Enforces rules of behavior for participants; report any concerns to the Site Director.
  • Perform other duties as

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Able to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work
  • Uphold professional standards and represent standards of Project LIFT in public.
  • Clean driving record
  • Excellent driving skills.

Experience in one or more of the major areas of Automotive Technology with an emphasis on multiple area skill sets including: Cars and Light Trucks, Collision Repair, Medium-Heavy Truck, Truck Equipment, Auto and Truck Parts.

 

 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Able to lift up to minimum of 25lbs.
  • Able to work in non-air-conditioned environment. May be in direct sunlight occasionally.
  • Able to stay on feet for extended periods of time.
