Express Employment is direct hiring skilled Manual Machinist/Tool & Die Makers in Chelsea, Mi! 

Job Scope: As a Manual Machinist, you will play a crucial role in the metal stamping plant, operating manual machinery to produce high-quality metal parts according to specifications.

Schedule: Full-time on 1st or 2nd shift 6am-2pm, or 2pm-10pm 8-hour schedules Monday-Friday

Compensation: based on experience: $20.50-$30/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate manual machines including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses to fabricate metal parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining operations and specifications.
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
• Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain product specifications and quality.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure proper functionality and minimize downtime.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Use math, geometry, metric, fractions, and decimals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Manual Machinist in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal stamping.
• Proficiency in operating manual machining equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and machining operations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety procedures and regulations.

Skills that will set up apart as a Manual Machinist! 

• Experience in both VISI and MasterCam 2D/3D is a plus.
