Estimator - HVAC/Plumbing

Express is now hiring an Estimator for a leading HVAC and Plumbing company in Round Rock!
Are you ready to take on an exciting adventure in account management? We're on the hunt for a talented Estimator to join our clients' Plumbing Division and become the ultimate builder whisperer!

Responsibilities? Oh, we've got plenty of fun stuff lined up for you! You'll be a master of load calculations and designing HVAC systems that make buildings happy. No more boring buildings, we promise! You'll also be the hero who calls on builders, compiles the work to be bid, and creates jaw-droppingly detailed takeoffs like a pro.

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience.
Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Responsibilities

• Conduct load calculations and develop designs for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems tailored to meet the specific requirements of residential and commercial buildings. This involves careful selection of suitable equipment, ductwork, and air distribution systems.
• Establish contact with builders and compile the necessary information for bidding purposes. This includes acquiring plans, location details, specifications, and site-specific requirements.
• Perform meticulous takeoffs, providing detailed estimations of material usage and labor demands.
• Determine the profit percentage, set appropriate pricing for projects, and submit comprehensive formal bids to builders.
• Proactively follow up on bid submissions, actively advocating for the acceptance of our proposals.
• Upon being awarded projects, take responsibility for organizing all job files, encompassing detailed takeoffs, specifications, site-specific mandates, and any pertinent job instructions.
• This also involves securing essential contracts and purchase orders to facilitate project completion.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for builders, effectively addressing any issues, additional work authorizations, or challenges that may arise throughout all construction phases.
• Coordinate and provide clear instructions to Superintendents regarding project specifications and execution guidelines.
• Collaborate with the scheduling team and offer assistance in matters concerning project scheduling.
• Skillfully resolve any price discrepancies through thorough data collection and analysis.
• Attend off-site meetings at the request of the builder, representing our organization professionally and effectively.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in supporting various aspects of our operations.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in the Plumbing or HVAC Industry preferred
• Strong computer skills (MS Suite)
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in basic math
• Able to multitask and prioritize
• Strong attention to detail
