Tax Preparer - Public Accounting Experience

Located in Birmingham, AL

Salary: Up to $85,000 to start, DOE

Position Highlights:  Full-time opening with a 35 year plus, established CPA firm, who is heavily involved in the local community. Looking for a sharp Tax Preparer with public accounting experience. Up to $85,000 to start, depending on experience.

Here's What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like:

• Help serve our clients in various fields: real estate, nursing homes, restaurants and professional services
• Prepare Individual and business tax return - 1120, 1120S, 1065, 990, 1041
• Assist with preparation of financial statements
• Help with Tax Planning
• Assist with audits
• Perform accounting processes specific to the area or business unit assigned

Schedule: 

• FULL TIME; Mon-Fri, 40 hrs. /week. 
• Some overtime required during tax season, BUT the firm will close for 2-3 days following Tax Day each year (whew)!

Here's What Makes YOU a Great Fit:

• Public accounting experience; CPA certification a PLUS
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (hey, this IS accounting!)
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate & work in a team environment
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook
• Drug-free; background check
