REQUIREMENTS 

• Hands-on inspection of complex aerospace parts and assemblies using available hand tools and gages
• Develop and modify CMM programs
• Create detailed inspection reports and/or instructions (AS9102, Final Inspection, Quality Work Instructions)
• Contribute to fixture design for inspection purposes 
• Perform daily in-process inspection walks and 1st article buy-off
• Interface with government or customer source inspectors
• Continuously improve new and existing processes
• Provide feedback and solutions to the Engineering and Production team
• Mentor entry level quality team members and shop floor personnel

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements.
• Operate precision machinery as needed. 
• Write or edit programs for precision machinery.
• Ensure that precision machinery is in working condition and properly calibrated.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Utilize customer requirements, and design documentation to build inspection plans.
• Write, validate, and maintain CMM programs for the inspection of fixtures, gages, and other manufactured parts.
• Perform periodic calibration of inspection equipment. 
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing throughout the build process to ensure on-time and accurate inspection services. 
• Support continuous improvement efforts within the metrology department. 
• Ensure compliance with all safety polices and rules. 
• Follow all documented procedures and instructions and write & revise procedures to ensure compliance with quality systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• 3+ years of complex aerospace inspection experience
• PC-DMIS or Calypso experience desire
• Expert-level experience with all aspects of manual inspection (comparator, sine plate, height gage, large micrometers, etc.)
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
• Comfortable working with tolerances <.0005 
• Experience with exotic or high-temp materials
