Express Employment Professionals is seeking an HR Specialist for a locally owned company in Fresno, Ca.  The HR Specialist will be responsible for managing various HR functions, including benefits administration, employee retention and reward programs, mandatory reporting for government entities, HR compliance, employee files, background checks, and updates to the employee handbook. Located in Fresno, California, this position will report to the Manager of Finance and HR Administration and will be a part of the Accounting and Finance Group.

 

Pay is $30-$38 an hour

Evaluation to hire - Direct Hire 

Mon-Friday

8a-5pm

 

Primary Responsibilities:
- Administer employee benefits and address employee inquiries regarding benefits. These include
health insurance, dental insurance, 401K, etc.
- Implement and oversee employee retention and reward programs to enhance employee
satisfaction and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state mandatory reporting requirements.
- Handle HR compliance matters, such as FMLA, ADA, ACA, and other relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and records and ensure that they are updated
on a regular basis.
- Conduct background checks for prospective employees as part of the hiring process.
- Update and revise the employee handbook, employee manual, and other employee reference
resources as needed.
- Keep abreast of laws and changes to laws regarding employees, employee benefits, and other HR-related activities.

 

Requirements:
- College degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Possess a strong understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, QuickBooks, and related HR software.
