Salary: $135,000 to $152,000

Job Summary:

The production manager manages operations of production areas to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved. Follows overall production schedules, targets, and goals are met. Manage staffing and establish daily and shift production goals.

The production manager monitors shift production metrics to identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements.  Coordinates maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime efficiencies and speed.  Additionally, the production manager ensures that staff training processes, equipment, gear, and tool requirements are fulfilled to comply with health and safety regulations.  Coaches team in best practice to provide a safe and efficient work environment and resolve escalated issues and problems.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Oversees subordinate staff of 15 to 25 in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.  
• Ensures that project/department milestones and goals are met and adhered to.  
• Typically has 5 years of experience and 1-3 years supervisory experience.
• Oversee the production system to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Confirm that production procedures are properly carried out and all documentation is current.
• Determine overall product quality by conducting and evaluating various product audits and process documentation tests.
• Evaluate and take corrective actions, when necessary, regarding product quality management at all levels of product movement.
• Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended procedures, equipment utilization and housekeeping practices. Confirm these procedures are being maintained.
• Consult management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
• Accept responsibility of training and preparing new employees.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent job experience 
• 5 to 10 years of experience in production process and/or manufacturing management.
• 1 to 3 years supervisory Experience.
• Able to instruct and follow-through with personnel to ensure quality standards are met.
• Ability to think critically and adapt to new situations with discretion.
