Express Employment Professionals is hiring for an “Ophthalmic Assistant” for a local Flathead Valley company! 
 
Work schedule; Monday to Friday; 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM 
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Work directly with patients and our Ophthalmologists and Optometrists. Gather info and perform a series of tests on the patient to prepare them to see the doctor. This includes: 
  • Review of the patient’s past and present history 
  • Current medications 
  • Reason for their visit
  • Checking vision distance and near 
  • Checking the patient's pupils for reaction and any abnormalities 
  • Performing a brief confrontation visual field test and motility
  • Refracting 
  • Instilling eye drops
  • Using a microscope 
  • Checking pressures
  • Performing diagnostic tests
  • Dilating   
  • Additional duties include: Coordinating patient scheduling, general office duties, assisting patients who are wheelchair-bound, assisting with paperwork, learning several different instruments/equipment, prepping the patient for laser treatments, and preparing patients for injections in the eye and in-office minor surgeries. Minor surgeries can be anything from lumps and bumps, irrigations, sutures, LASIK/PRK, PTK, Corneal Crosslinking, etc.

Requirements: 

  • Previous optical experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced service industry
