Automotive Manufacturing – Production Operators and Forge Technicians

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for casual and temporary Production Operators and Forge Technicians for a world-class automotive manufacturer in St Catharines – THK Rhythm Automotive. We are recruiting individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent hand-eye-coordination, and attention to safety/detail/quality. Responsibilities

• Manufacturing linkage and suspension automotive parts
• Receiving raw material, running the saw, loading the heat treat baskets, loading the heat treat ovens
• With training, crane operation, operation of saws, assisting with press machine operation, use of hand and measuring tools like gauges
• Forge parts to form and shape metal into various shapes and sizes to produce desired strength and hardness (forming and upsetting)
• Material handling through use of pump and hand carts, forklifts, push carts, and manual material handling
• Set-up and maintenance of the machine, operation of the machine, loading and unloading parts on press, lubricate dies and punches
• Tagging parts based on quality instructions, parts documentation, and data entry

Skills for Success

• 1–2-years of large metal manufacturing or forge experience (saw, machine, and press operation)   
• Ability to work in a small team or partner workstation and take directions well
• Ability and comfort with manual lifting (upto 50 lbs), working in a hot work environment, conscientious safety and quality focus
• Strong communication skills, data entry capabilities, and following verbal instructions
• Gripping and handling of large parts

Schedule And Wages

• Monday to Friday
• Day Shift 7:00am – 3:00pm  -  $24.55/hr
• Afternoon Shift 3:00pm – 11:00pm -  $25.30/hr
• Night Shift 11:00pm – 7:00am - $25.55/hr   
• Preference given to candidates who can rotate on a MAD rotation on all 3 shifts
• This is production-based scheduling in the automotive industry. Although there is no guarantee of continuous 40-hour work weeks on an ongoing basis, there are some departments looking to hire and attract top talent to join the company workforce (based on candidate performance and position availability).
