We are looking for an Operator Repair Associate in Conway, SC!

•    Basic computer skills: ability to enter, retrieve, and evaluate data
•    High school graduate or equivalent
•    Prior industrial experience a plus

 

Responsibilities include:

• Set up, operate, and adjust/tune casting and auxiliary equipment

• Input setup, quality, and casting data into computer system

• Take samples to QA laboratory, evaluate quality information, and make casting adjustments while maintaining continuous casting operation

• Pre-heat nozzle and cast cup assemblies, remove, and install nozzle, cast cup, and casting wheel assemblies

• Apply tape to hub, mount hubs onto winder, wind newly cast ribbon

• Use a crane and a forklift to remove newly wound spools from winder and transport to cooling racks

• Manually rake and lift amorphous metal ribbon scrap from casting area floor into ribbon cart

• Push full ribbon cart to baler, initiate compacting, use overhead crane with ice hook to load bale cart, use powered cart to move full bale cart to melt staging area for re-melting, return empty ribbon cart to casting area and repeat process

• Use cutting & burning rig and various power & hand tools to perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance, including changing stopping rods, changing heater rods, deslagging holding furnace, relining melt and holding furnaces, burning spout tubes, and troubleshooting winder-related issues

• This position can rotate between casting, winding, QC, and raking functions, as skills permit
