Pay: $17.50/hour

Schedule:  Monday - Friday  7:30pm to Midnight

 

As a Mosquito Fogging Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a specialized fogging truck to control mosquito populations in designated areas. Your primary role will involve safely maneuvering the truck, operating the fogging equipment, and following predetermined routes to effectively disperse mosquito control agents. You will work closely with a team and adhere to established safety guidelines and environmental regulations to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the fogging truck.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a mosquito fogging truck in accordance with assigned routes and schedules.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the fogging truck is in proper working condition and report any mechanical issues to the supervisor.
  • Load and unload mosquito control agents and chemicals onto the fogging truck, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during the fogging process.
  • Calibrate and adjust the fogging equipment to ensure accurate and effective dispersal of mosquito control agents.
  • Drive the fogging truck in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Execute mosquito control operations according to predetermined procedures, paying attention to assigned coverage areas and target zones.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust fogging operations as required to optimize effectiveness while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of fogging activities, including dates, times, and locations of treatments.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and the general public regarding fogging activities, safety measures, and any potential concerns.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the fogging truck, including cleaning, inspecting, and refueling, to ensure its optimal performance.
  • Participate in training programs and stay up to date with the latest mosquito control techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines and protocols to minimize the risk of accidents, injuries, or chemical exposure.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of mosquito control practices, techniques, and equipment is desirable.
  • Familiarity with local traffic laws, regulations, and routes.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, following instructions and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document activities.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and the general public.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings.
