Deburring Technician

Full time – Temp to hire

Monday thru Friday – 6am to 4:30pm

$20 to $30hr depending on experience.

 

Busy family-owned metal fabrication shop, specializing in the aerospace and defense industries is looking for a Deburring Technician to join their team in Glendale. MUST HAVE AEROSPACE EXPERIENCE!

 

Summary: In this position, you will be tasked with finishing the machined products by deburring, tapping and countersinking parts coming off the production line. You will be using both hand tools and machines. Will train on deburring machine. We’re looking for someone who can learn how to run and clean our deburring machines, de tab and buff parts. Previous experience is great, but we are seeking someone that is looking for a career and wants to grow with the company. This position can be a steppingstone to other machine operator positions.

 

Responsibilities:

• Use grinding equipment with various types of grinding wheels and Scotch Brite abrasive wheels to remove burrs. Remove and replace wheels when worn or defective.
• Use handheld deburring knives and pneumatic tools equipped with burr tools to remove heavy burrs.
• Use drill press equipped with burr tools to remove heavy burrs. Interchange & replace burr tools as required.
• Use sandpaper to flat sand burrs, nicks, dings & scratches.
• Maintain a clean and well-lit workspace; organize all deburring tools and equipment; inform the Manager when replacements are necessary.
• Read and understand the following company documents: Quality Policy, Safety Manual and Company Policy.
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly workplace.
• Understand and demonstrate safe operation of machines at all times.
• Understand and demonstrate Lean Principles; work to create an environment of continuous improvement and efficient productivity.
• Read, understand and work to Work Instructions and Work Orders as necessary.

 

Requirements:

• MUST HAVE AEROSPACE EXPERIENCE.
• One year plus experience in a machine shop or machining environment.
• Ability to perform basic operation and navigation functions on a computer.
• Detailed oriented and able to work in a production environment.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Must be able to read and write comments, understand operation sheets/blueprints, specifications, and all applicable company/customer paperwork.
• Quality minded with the willingness and ability to cross train in other areas to provide support for cells.
