The role of the Assistant Maintenance Technician is to perform scheduled and routing preventative maintenance items, as well as corrective maintenance. This position will also assist the Maintenance Technician with two-person maintenance-related tasks, completing all work to Company standards. This role will serve as a backup, and primary maintenance individual, in the absence of the Maintenance Technician Provides suggestion to the Maintenance Technician on enhancing the preventative maintenance schedule

Assists the Maintenance Technician in carrying out the preventative maintenance schedule

Assists the Maintenance Technician on two-person maintenance-related duties

Completes required maintenance paperwork and documentation per the Production Superintendent’s standards

Performs electrical 3phase maintenance as necessary

Assists in performing corrective maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery per assigned work orders

Assists in completing building maintenance on both  properties per assigned work orders, e.g. installing racks and organization fixtures, office fixtures, other structural improvements

Assists in completing grounds maintenance as part of a routine schedule and per work order, e.g. landscaping

Assists in addressing minor plumbing and electrical issues in the  buildings as requested by management

Assists the HR Manager in changing the “Help Wanted” postings on the property as requested

Assists on special maintenance-related projects per work order

Completes material handling functions as needed, e.g. bringing materials into the building, operating a fork truck

Reports any inventory shortfalls to direct supervisor

Completes daily pickup of area and remains responsible for cleanliness of work area

Maintains all equipment and tools

Adheres to all safety protocols including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times

Assists in conducting periodic physical inventories of the entire Production Department

Uses a barcode scanning system to clock in and out of jobs

Assists other PHIL and Welarco personnel as requested

Remains willing and able to cross-train and float into other positions of the Production Department as requested

This position will be working primarily indoors in a two-story production facility

This position will be working on a plant floor and exposed to moving machinery, loud noise, and dust

This position must adhere to all safety standards listed in the Safety Manual

This position must adhere to all PPE requirements listed in the Safety Manual,

e.g. metatarsal protection, earplugs or earmuffs, protective eyewear with safety side shields, respirator, etc.

As a regular part of work duties, this position may work outdoors, at heights, or on uneven ground
