SUMMARY

Prepares parts and assemblies by shot blasting and painting to stage for finishing product, meeting defined production standards, schedules and quality requirements. Work with blast, paint systems and various tools for the completion of product to engineering specifications. Support the Quality Department with respect to quality assurance evaluation of painted products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Stage parts and welded assemblies for blasting, painting and assembly processes.
• Operating other production equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete product to engineering specifications and quality requirements.
• Able to set up, adjust and use all types of blasting and painting equipment
• Must have knowledge of paint specifications, including NACE, paint techniques, blasting and profiles
• Must be able to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work fluctuating work schedules and extensive mandatory work hours required by job/shop workloads, including weekends.
• Review of finished assemblies, parts and product to quality requirements
• Report production issues and assist in resolutions as required

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement and volume.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
