Appeals Specialist $17/hr.

A local Columbia insurance company is searching for Appeals Specialist who will have core responsibilities in performing non-medical reviews and processes redetermination letters ensuring timeliness and accuracy. This position Prepares unit reports, analyzes, and interprets workload, and processes issues utilizing various software tools. Updates letters and documents within the department when necessary.  May gather and prepare documentation for legal inquiries and administrative requests.

 This role works independently with custom company software, the ability to type 30+ words per minute is essential. This innovative company is moving fast and often promotes from within. Some seasonal overtime hours are offered. Our Appeals Specialist are vital to our success.

What we look for:

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
• 2 years  or more experience in a job- related field
• Type 30+ words per minute
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
• . Excellent organizational, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Good judgment skills. Proficiency in spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills
