Local company that travels nationwide is seeking a professional technician experienced in Diesel Mechanics.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose & perform minor to complex repairs for all types of equipment.
• Repair heavy truck (semi-class 8) & trailer
• Tire maintenance and repairs
• May be required to test drive equipment if certified.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain a positive & proactive work environment
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
• Checking vehicle lighting systems on Semi and trailer.
• Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
• Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks and trailers.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
• Maintaining a parts inventory.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.

Diesel Mechanic Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
• Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds.
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
• Attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good organization skills.
• Must have own tools or the ability to get own tool set within one week after start.
