Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a growing Niagara Region based manufacturing company that specializes in engineering and building modular buildings (e-houses), Switchgear, and Portable Substations. The Mechanical Designer and Drafter will be a key player in the Engineering and Product Development department. This is a full time, permanent, Direct Hire opportunity.

Responsibilities 

• Review customer specifications and provide sound Mechanical design for custom switchgear, modular buildings (E-Houses), protection and control 
• Produce mechanical drawings, bill of materials, design instructions to the production team for fabrication and assembly 
• Adhere to engineering design procedures, those set by the company and ISO9001 QA program 
• Assist quotation department with design feasibility and cost estimates 
• Create accurate engineering and electrical drawings (AC & DC Schematics, 3-line diagrams) 
• Prepare comprehensive wiring diagrams for electrical equipment, power substations according to project objectives and design information  
• Participate in design process by supporting all other Engineers, Designers, and the Owners of the company 

Skills for Success 

• 1-4 years of experience with Engineering Design, common practices, procedures, and standard concepts 
• Familiarity with power electrical equipment 
• Ontario Building Code and Electrical Code knowledge 
• Strong teamwork skills 
• Experience in drafting, CAD, proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office 
• Diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Technologist or Technician or Bachelor's Degree 
• Knowledge in production processes with electrical products 

Schedule

• Monday – Friday in-office position
• 7:00am – 3:30pm 

Wages

• $59,000 - $68,000 annual salary DOE
