Machine Operator

Located in New Berlin, WI

Salary: $15 - $24/hr

CNC and Manual Machinist

1st Shift: Monday - Friday

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Pay Rate: $15/HR - $24/HR

 

Job Description:

• Reads and interprets blueprints, programming sheets, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedure, control settings, and machining methods and sequences
• Mounts, aligns and secures tooling, attachments, and workpiece on machine
• Loads program in machine controller or enters command to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from data base
• Calculates and sets machine controls to position tooling in relationship to workpiece to regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed and coolant flow
• Starts machine and monitors display and machine operation to detect malfunction
• Stops machine to change cutting tools when dull, and to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications
• Edits commands to adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
• Discusses programming errors with supervisor or programmer to resolve problems
• Cleans machine, tooling and parts. Performs machine maintenance
• Machines metallic and nonmetallic materials
• Notifies supervisor of discrepancies
• Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged tooling
• Assists in the reduction of customer complaints to achieve a high degree of customer satisfaction
• Observe housekeeping and safety rules. Ensure tools are cleaned and returned to proper storage area
• Conducts self in a professional and cooperative manner
• Report to work in a timely manner
• Performs any other duties as deemed necessary by the CNC Supervisor

 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 – 2 years CNC machining Experience required. 2+ years CNC machining experience preferred
• Skill/ Ability – Mechanically inclined, ability to read blue-prints and schematic drawings, problem solving skills
• Physical – Full flexibility of movement with all limbs; all senses functional; stand majority of the time
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
