We are currently looking for General Laborers for a metal recycling company in Frankfort, NY. Ideal candidates must be willing to work outside in the elements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspects materials and sorts items or materials into piles or places in bins or barrels according to type, size, condition, coloring, marking, or other characteristics
• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
• Operate machinery used in the production process or assist equipment operators
• Load and unload items from machines, conveyor and conveyances
• Moves reusable materials to production department or storage
• Separates metal particles from waste
• Cleaning which includes sweeping and shoveling residual waste from process
• Recognize and classify various metals including aluminum, brass, copper, alloys, stainless, etc.
• Operate a forklift or a skid steer as needed to provide assistance when sorting material.
• Assist with suppliers delivering inbound material. Help with unloading and loading.
• Prepare and clean material
• Follow company and OSHA safety requirements in all aspects of the day to day operations.
• Take part in the safety program and raise concerns to management about unsafe acts or conditions.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for extensive periods of times
• Ability to work in a team setting and be respectful to other coworkers
• Various other tasks will be required and assigned as needed for continuous flow of operations

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally moving up to 100 lbs.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM (opportunities for overtime)

Pay: $18.00/hour

May be subject to a background check and/or drug screen.
