Warehouse Package Assembler - 2nd shift, $19/hr.-19.50/hr.

Express Employment Professionals of Long Beach is currently seeking a Warehouse Package Assemblers for a great local company. 

POSITION – Warehouse Package Assemblers, 2nd Shift
LOCATION:  Carson 
RATE: $19/hr. - $19.50/hr. 

HOURS: M-F 2:30PM - 11:00PM 

Requirement:  Drug Test 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Package material and assemble pallets
• General shop duties in order to process orders to customer specifications and stock requirements
• Safely and efficiently execute job assignment
• Daily visual inspection to detect possible malfunction of equipment
• Remove bands or packaging from coil
• Verify material being consumed matches allocation on Job Order
• Inspect material at each step of packaging process
• Band and package material per special instructions or standard shop practice
• Record information such as weight, date, piece count, dimensions, tag number and any other required information to ensure that packaging specifications are met
• Print material tags on computer for complete jobs and tag material
• Remove any defect before packaging
• Obtain, move, and sort materials using hand tools, conveyor, coil car and forklift
• Participate in stock takes
• Assemble, disassemble and repair pallets safely using various tolls such as saws, nail guns, tape measure and hammers
• Empty scrap and trash container
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Inspect, verify and record critical dimensions as required by Job Order
• Detect and report defective material, improper operation, and unusual condition to proper supervisor.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and practices
• Perform all duties assigned by upper management
• Must have Steel Toed Boots - other personal protective equipment will be provided

Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Language Skills — Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. English required, Bilingual is a preferred (Spanish).
• Mathematical Skills  — Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Equipment and Tools — Ability to use and read a micrometer, tape measure and standard tools for machine adjustments, packaging and pallet assembly. Forklift vehicle certified is a plus.
• Reasoning Ability — Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Physical Demands — Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Work Environment — Moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
