Forklift Operator

Express Employment Professionals is one of the largest privately owned staffing and recruiting companies looking to hire a Forklift Operator for a sheet metal company based in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift to move sheet metal products throughout the warehouse and loading and unloading trucks.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a forklift to move sheet metal products throughout the warehouse, ensuring they are safely and efficiently transported.
• Load and unload trucks, verifying that all products are properly secured and protected from damage during transportation.
• Conduct daily inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing products, including quantities and specifications.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure all products are properly stored and organized in the warehouse.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
• Follow all safety regulations and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety hazards or concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Possession of a valid forklift certification and experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to forklift operation.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and track inventory.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to read and interpret product specifications and shipping documents.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
