Machine Maintenance Technician

Salary: $22 to $26 hr

The maintenance mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, perform electrical tasks, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment.

 

Essential Functions:

 

• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines and other facility equipment.
• Install, maintain and repair various electrical control circuits, including single phase and 3 phase systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLC control production machines
• Read and interpret schematics and equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service. 
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repair of building interior and exterior
• Occasional welding
• Completes Preventative Maintenance orders as required
• Completes Work Orders and Chino Action Items on a timely basis
• Completes machine Down Time sheets as needed
• Comply with company safety policies and maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Trained in and comply with Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures. 
• Other duties as assignment.

 

Skills:

 

• Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment.
• Must be able to effectively manage time by organizing and planning work
• Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
•  Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing up to 8 hrs per day.
• Lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. 
• Use ladders and climb stairs
• Ability to work at heights

 

Work Environment:

 

• Frequently exposed to a non-climate controlled environment.
• Frequently exposed to dust and loud noise.
• Frequently exposed to machinery and mechanical, moving parts.

 

Required Education and Experience:

 

• HS Diploma or GED
• Must have some electrical background
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus
• Must retain a valid driver’s license
